Care is a student class project for the University of Michigan course SI 526, run by the Care student team (“we”, “us”). Contact: SI-526-Care@umich.edu. By using it, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how your information is handled.

A class project, provided “as is”

Care is free and provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, reliable, secure, or always available. It is hosted on free plans with no backups, so your data could be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important.

Not medical advice, not an emergency service

Care is a note-taking and checklist tool. It does not give medical advice and is not a medical service, and it is not HIPAA-compliant. Nothing in it replaces the judgment of a doctor, therapist, or other professional. It sends no alerts and no one monitors it. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number).

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for what you enter and for keeping it accurate.
• You are responsible for whom you invite. Everyone in your family space can see its care plans, visits, and notes.
• Only enter information you have the right to share.
• You must be an adult to use Care. Don't create accounts for children.

Acceptable use

• Don't use Care for anything unlawful, harmful, or harassing.
• Don't try to access other people's data or family spaces, or get around the app's security.
• Don't try to overload, disrupt, or damage the service.

We may remove accounts or content that break these rules.

Changes and shutdown

We may change, pause, or discontinue Care at any time, for example after the semester ends. If we update these terms, we will change this page and its effective date. You can stop using Care and delete your account and data at any time from the account menu.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Care or your inability to use it. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
